The piece was commissioned by the famous Kronos Quartet, although it has also been performed and recorded by the Cuarteto Latinoamericano along with other works by Gabriela Ortiz: “Baakkah,” for soprano and string quartet; and “Seis piezas a Violeta,” for piano and string quartet.
